1/20/11 Rangers vs. Hurricanes

You make me sick when you speak, Morris.

Rangers against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Wit the Rangers coming off of a huge win last night against Toronto, hopefully the Rangers can keep the momentum going in their favor despite all the injuries piling up. Most recently losing Ruslan Fedotenko to a shoulder injury for 2-3 weeks. Personally, I would like to see the Rangers stop getting hurt, but thats just me. However, when faced with adversity, the Rangers have managed to pull together to pull some points out of nothing, which is a true testament to the teams heart. Last year, Rangers players combined to miss I believe 78 man-games. This year, they're already in the 100s, and it is only half way through the year! However, you can just tell on the bench that this team is trying as hard as they can every night, and is really trying to pull together to get the points.

The Hurricanes are still in the hunt for a playoff position in the Eastern Conference. They are now seven points behind the Rangers, but were slowed down this week thanks to two straight losses to the Bruins. The Hurricanes have beaten the Rangers this season so far, back in October to a score of 4-3. But, in their latest meeting, Mats Zuccarello got his first NHL goal in overtime to win the game for the Rangers 2-1. And now, with the addition of Wojtek Wolski, more secondary scoring can be brought to the table against this team.

My Diagnosis

The Diagnosis is really becoming an actual diagnosis due to all the injuries and all. But anyway, With the momentum of last nights game, and Marian Gaborik gaining his confidence with a four goal game, I believe the Rangers can pull this game out as well. The defense has managed to stick together through the adversity, and is carrying themselves well as of recently.

My Predictions

Rangers win 4-2

Marian Gaborik will continue his scoring run with the games first goal in the 1st.
Eric Staal will pull the Hurricanes even also in the 1st.
Brian Boyle will notch one to pull the Rangers ahead half way through the 2nd.
Marc Stall will get the third for the Rangers also in the 2nd.
Jeff Skinner will pot one for the Hurricanes cutting the deficit to one also in the 2nd.
And finally, Wojtek Wolski will get the empty netter to win the game.

Enjoy the game!
